If you are looking to travel by train, the historic Santa Barbara Train Station is located on State Street between t he 101 freeway and the waterfront, and is serviced by two Amtrak lines: The Coast Starlight and the Pacific Surfliner. The Coast Starlight runs once daily, North and South, between Los Angeles, California and Seattle, Washington. The Pacific Surfliner runs ten times daily (five in each direction) between San Diego, California and the Santa Barbara suburb of Goleta. The Surfliner is great for quick trips to San Luis Obispo, further to the north, or Ventura, just south of Downtown.
