2 days ago Workzones Marks Expansion with Free Fridays
Release Date: July 16,2019
The downtown collaborative work space Workzones in Paseo Nuevo mall is celebrating its ongoing expansion this year by offering three, free Fridays from through Aug. 2 for entrepreneurs who want to make use of its open areas, free Wi-Fi and Peet’s Coffee.
Workzones manager Kali Calloway said the company is planning a grand re-opening sometime in September. The company initially started about six years ago.
Earlier this year, Workzones said it expanded to a total of 14,300 square feet and with 26 new offices with windows. Most of that appears to be ready with the middle of the new space featuring an enclosed conference room.
As-yet-undeveloped space incudes a “built-to-suit” area that is supposed to be completed later this year.
The initial Workzones space, across the second floor from what was local Social Security Office, has been remodeled. The company has expanded completely into that space at 351 Paseo Nuevo. The Social Security Office now is at 122 W. Figueroa St.
At Workzones, members can work together or alone, at a shared desk or at one of the private window offices. Guests and members can rent long-term or drop in for a day or an hour. It also offers book training centers, meeting rooms, events, or conference rooms.
Started by a group of South Coast entrepreneurs, company officials now say they are planning a nationwide franchise expansion.
Workzones is one of a growing number of similar companies including Impact Hub with its currently three main Santa Barbara sites, Synergy, the Sand Box and Regus.
