UCSB DEPARTMENT OF THEATER AND DANCE PRESENTS Santa Barbara Dance Theater

Indy award-winning choreographer and artistic director, Christopher Pilafian brings Santa Barbara Dance Theater back to the Lobero Theatre for a dynamic program of new dances and audience favorites from past seasons. Charged with contrasts, imagery, strong dancing and passionate performances, the program features Pilafian’s 1998 Anemone, with a live performance by cellist-composer Gianna Abondolo; an updated rendition of Andrea Schermoly’s popular 2018 Moonscapes; a premiere by UCSB Professor Brandon Whited taking a fresh and personal look at wanderlust, and a West Coast premiere by New York City b-girl, house dancer, Bessie Award recipient and innovator Ephrat Asherie, performed by the UCSB Dance Company.
