Santa Barbara Timeline Mosaic Reception
Launching the community outreach and design phase this reception is your invitation to become a partner or sponsor to this major community public art piece. Learn how you can put your name on it. Mosaic will trace Santa Barbara’s history of firsts from the Jurassic Period to modern times. Opening Reception will feature two speakers: Betsy Gallery, the lead artist and chief instigator of the SB Timeline Mosaic. Herself an accomplished mosaic artist whose inspired determination and love of the ancient art compelled her to bring the idea back here after seeing the London Timeline Mosaic on the Thames. Robin Elander is the project manager to assist in dividing the workload. Robin is well-known from the Summer Solstice Celebration where she's Executive Director. Donations are tax-deductible via SB Arts Collaborative and Fractured Atlas. Thanks to Paseo Nuevo Management, Darsena Selections for the Spanish wines and to tile artist, Joleen Law. These donor tiles will frame the mosaic for half a millennium or more.
