Las Cafeteras – Roots, rhythm and rhyme from East LA

Born and raised east of the Los Angeles River, Las Cafeteras remix roots music to tell modern day stories with a positive message. Their Afro-Mexican beats, rhythms, and rhymes deliver inspiring lyrics that document the histories of a community seeking love and justice in the concrete jungle of Los Angeles. Using traditional Son Jarocho instruments, Las Cafeteras sing in English, Spanish, and Spanglish while adding a remix of sounds, from rock to hip-hop to rancheras, using music as a vehicle to bridge cultures and communities.
