E-Waste Recycling Drop-Off Event

Twice a year, the City of Santa Barbara sponsors a free e-waste recycling event open to all area residents and businesses. E-waste is anything that runs on a plug or batteries. Next event: **NEW** Location: Earl Warren Showgrounds (Calle Real Entrance) Date: Friday and Saturday, May 4th and 5th, 2018 Time: 8:30am - 4:00pm What is accepted? Rule of thumb: if it runs on batteries or a power cord, we take it (with just a few exceptions)* TVs of any kind (CRT, plasma, LCD, etc.) Computers; components & accessories ( monitor, keyboard, mice, cables, external hard drives**, etc.) Laptops Power supplies Stereos and accessories (speakers, cables) Microwave ovens Phones (mobile phones with batteries removed; landline phones plus cords) VCRs and DVD players Plugs and cables Other items: electric & battery-operated tools, vacuum cleaners, fans, light fixtures/lamps (remove bulbs), electronic toys/games, cameras, record players, hair dryers, radios, fax or copy machines ** All hard drives will be completely destroyed and recycled according to FACTA Standards. *EXCEPTIONS/ WHAT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED Batteries of any kind; take them to a battery store or Downtown Recycling Center Fluorescent light bulbs (long tubes or curly), take to Downtown Recycling Center or County Transfer Station Large Appliances (washer, dryer, fridge, oven): call MarBorg for your free bulky item pickup, take to MarBorg C&D Facility or County Transfer Station. Printer cartridges - take to the Post Office (free mail-in), Downtown Recycling Center, or area office stores Media (DVD, cassette tapes, CD, vinyl, floppy disk), take to Downtown Recycling Center Air Conditioners Price: Free
