An Evening of Theater: A Stage Reading of Food and Shelter

The local nonprofit, New Beginnings Counseling Center, is excited to host a stage reading of Food and Shelter as its annual fundraiser. Written by Emmy award-winning writer Jane Anderson and directed by Jenny Sullivan, the play details the struggles of a homeless couple and young daughter who go to Disneyland and decide to spend the night in the Swiss Family Robinson tree house. This is a wonderful opportunity for community members to learn more about New Beginnings, as well as important social issues in our community that remain unaddressed. The evening will directly benefit New Beginnings’ programs, services, and clients. Food and Shelter is “Heart wrenching…Jane Anderson relentlessly presses her point that nothing like the events on stage should be happening in such a wealthy country.” – Variety Dinner packages and sponsorship opportunities are available online.
